About Foresight Linux
Foresight Linux is a desktop operating system featuring an intuitive user interface and a showcase of the latest desktop software, giving users convenient and enjoyable access to their music, photos, videos, documents, and Internet resources.
As a Linux distribution, Foresight sets itself apart by eliminating the need for the user to be familiar with Linux, combining a user-focused desktop environment on top of Conary. As the most technically innovative software management system available today, Conary ensures that users can efficiently search, install, and manage all the software on the Foresight system, including bringing in the latest features and fixes without waiting for a major release. Thanks to Conary, Foresight developers can provide those features and fixes through rolling releases, allowing updates to be pushed out as soon as they are available. The latest version of Foresight is 2.5.0 which contains an up to date snapshot of the Foresight repository.
Now, let me introduce you to some of the Foresight members:
Current Team:
| António “doniphon” Meireles: Project Manager “doniphon” is our go to, play all positions and coach from the sideline guy! Always neck deep into packaging and the day to day work required to maintain a Linux distribution, he somehow still manages to find the time to teach new “want to be” maintainers the intrincacies of the conary package management system. A true workhorse, António is behind the technological decisions for the project.Twitter: doniphon |

| Og Maciel: Community Manager A programmer, a translator for GNOME, XFCE, KDE, Openbox, etc, a GNOME/Foresight member and a dad.Twitter: OgMaciel |

When he asked how he could contribute he was pointed to GNOME Developer Kit. A year later he became a Foresight Developer and maintainer of several packages.Jesse has been a strong advocate for keeping our rolling release a priority and has always been able to pick things up whenever there’s a need for a helping hand! |

| Ken Vandine: FounderLong time contributor to open source projects in general, Ken started the Foresight distribution in 2005 to showcase some of the bleeding edge, cool desktop technologies but that were hard to integrate into the existing distros. He single-handy spearheaded and laid down the ground work required to make Foresight synonymous to having a cool Linux desktop! These days Ken is behind the Desktop Experience team for the Ubuntu distribution but we all know that will forever be a Foresight supporter!
