Support Resources
Whether new to Foresight and Linux or a long-time Linux enthusiast, every user can benefit from Foresight’s support resources. Check out the following sections to find ways you can learn more and ask for help when you need it.
Documentation
See the Documentation page on this site for more information about this support resource.
Forums
Joining and posting a message to the Foresight Linux Forums is the recommended way to ask a specific question or describe an issue, especially if you cannot find the answer on the Foresight Wiki or cannot conveniently use IRC. The Forums are frequented by both users and developers who are willing to assist fellow users. Also, unlike IRC, the Forums provide a permanent record of interaction with the option to search past conversations. You are also encouraged to use the Forums to check if someone else has already discovered a solution to your problem, to post tips and tricks or perhaps even post a little note about your experience with Foresight Linux.
Foresight Issue Tracker
Although we try our very best to make Foresight Linux free of defects, you might encounter situations where the software in Foresight Linux is clearly not behaving as it should. To track such issues, Foresight uses Atlassian’s JIRA software to file, track, and manage work on issues such as bugs and feature requests. Users who encounter apparent bugs are asked to file an issue in Foresight’s JIRA-powered issue tracking system. If you can, try to get another user to confirm the issue you’re seeing before filing a bug. Developers can then field the issue and make any fixes that are required. Also use JIRA to file feature requests, such as particular software you would like to see packaged for use in Foresight. Access Foresight’s issue tracking system (also known as FITS) at issues.foresightlinux.org, and reference this Foresight Wiki page for information on how to register as a user and file and track issues in JIRA.
