Foresight GNOME Edition features the GNOME desktop environment, created and maintained by The GNOME Project, as the interface for Foresight Linux. Taking advantage of its rolling releases, Foresight can promptly release an updated GNOME edition each time GNOME has a new release, making Foresight the top choice when demonstrating the latest GNOME.
The Foresight GNOME Lite edition features the ability to install using only one CD. Foresight GNOME Lite Edition does not include some software and features available in the full version. These include:
Users who choose to install the Foresight GNOME Lite Edition can easily upgrade to the full version. From the Applications menu, select Add / Remove Programs and search for "group-gnome-dist". Double click the package icon and the full Foresight GNOME Edition will be installed. Or, from the command line, type "sudo conary update group-gnome-dist". Note: This upgrade could be time intensive.
It is always a good idea to check the integrity of what you download before burning it to a disc. For information on how to check the shasums see the FAQ. Here is a link to a file containing all of the sha1sums of the iso images. If you only plan to download one disc then you can click on the sha1sum below and get a file for that specific download.
